As in, Foehn itself is based on multiple features introduced by Ares, and wouldn't be possible otherwise.
Even now in the latest one, we got new features like the improved unit transform logic, where you can deploy a unit or infantry to turn into a completely different unit or infantry (can only turn into the same type though, so no unit to infantry transformation; also, unfortunately can't turn a helicopter into a ship because helicopter can't land on water). Or have a unit turn into another unit when it enters water. This can enable some versatile units that act differently on water than on land, or even a naval unit that could switch between ship mode and sub mode.
This transformation can also happen on veterancy, so there can be a unique unit that changes based on that.

Suppressed weapons that do not trigger an EVA response are actually interesting, and should be added in some form.

Lol in what way is this imbalanced? There's no damage values even presented (besides the erradicator one). Elite status should count for something but I agree that it shouldn't be too powerful.
Elite infantry never really show up, anyway.

Well, let's see, no one really uses freeze on infantry, gas and radiation already do pretty much nothing to them anyway, emp is something nano-synced ones already have, and mind control's just there because why not? who would mind control infantry anyway? you're better off using mind control on tanks. (unless it's like a giantsbane)

My opinion on transformation for infantry is just to make unbalanced heroes more balanced. Just like Volkov. give him two modes : the standard one where he deals damage and alternate one where the damage is greatly reduced but can EMP just like now.

So.... let's see, no EMP and Irradiation, so Volkov and Yunru EMP are nulled, and Desolator/Eradicator can't damage them.... You're basically telling Soviets, especially Russia and China... to just fuck off when Foehn infantries get elite....
