I thank you for testing out the mission. I hope you can find bugs in that mission, I will fix them.

It seems that there are no serious mistakes, everything goes like a clock. :thumbsupcool:

same with me so far

In addition, I have finally finished my second custom mission "An X-Force" featuring the Soviets in the Ural Mountains during their push into Moscow. Originally, while I started this mission a month before the release of 3.3.4, I never thought this mission would fit decently with the recent soviet co-ops. This mission takes place pretty much a day before Dawnbreaker, where instead of liberating the Apocalypse tank complex, you rescue a small yet crucial X-MiG prototype research complex. And yes, if you didn't get the hint already, this mission features the X-MiG Fighters as a controllable unit-- the same X-MiGs that heroes like Morales and Boris call for airstrikes!

The objective of this mission is to recover the X-MiG research outpost and then defend the Palace in the research outpost from brutally strong Epsilon attacks. Unlike my previous custom mission, this mission I can confidently say, can range from being a decent to challenge to a total nightmare depending on your skill level.

https://drive.google...XL8n9cAwpph8wY-

This folder is where I store all my custom missions. "Dead Sea" is available here too.

Again feedback is always appreciated.

I will definitely test :)

I just updated the mission by removing some annoyances, so I would recommend redownloading (Link is the same)

Enjoy!

EDIT: Updated An X-Force mission to actually make a distinction between easy, medium, and mental modes.

@DrunkMaster:

1).There are some small issues with map geometry, like if you scroll down to the very bottom of the map you'll see visual artifacts. Move the bottom map border a few units up. There's also some holes on the ramps to the left of the Satellite Hack Center, near the road.

2).It probably would be better if you'll need to destroy not all buildings, but only the crucial ones, and then make the AI sellout. Searching the whole map for some lonely Inferno Tower is just unnecessarily prolonging the mission IMO.

3).Maybe not a huge deal, but using the Borillo allows you to skip some of the stuff at the first phase.

Sadly I can't really give my opinion on the balance since I kinda cheated:

Spoiler

So basically you can just cap the Airfield and the Barracks and just start clearing the map with the heroes+Scuds+Apoc, then just capture the enemy bases. I think you should also prevent the construction of MCVs/Infiltrators and maybe some others stuff, like the Libra Clones.

Yeah, also the string for a timer is missing as you can see from the screenshot above.

Hopefully I didn't forget anything I wanted to mention.

EDIT: Played on Mental btw.

Also there's a cargo plane that is just stuck somewhere in the left enemy base, and also a lonely Kirov just sitting at the bottom left corner of the map.

1) Yeah that is something I struggled with a lot when I was making the mission. Since the elevation is so high in this map and some parts are really steep. I think at the bottom of the map I can probably fix it by simply making the map larger but keep to same visible area. Will look into this

2) I strongly considered this when I was making the mission, however, I ultimately decided to go against this idea, because in this mission, after you survive the huge epsilon attack, you can literally EZ snipe all critical buildings in no time with MiGs and Demo Truck Drops.

The fact that you need to destroy every single building of the map was why I put the Satellite Hack Center to help the player find every building (and help the player attack the massive enemy base in general as its already very difficult due to the terrain)

3) It's true you can bypass some threats with the borillo, however, i don't really think its too gamebreaking. U would still need the Tigr to take down the invaders guarding the MiG outpost.

I guess one can just simply rush in with the borillo as the invaders don't do squat against armor, with reznov/krukov/desos inside the borillo to kill adepts and other stuff in your way, but u miss out on an elite tigr with possible firepower/armor upgrade (depending on difficulty) during the defense phase. I guess this is a choice up to the player if the said players knows that one can avoid some obstacles using the borillo but leave the Tigr behind

4) Hmm, thats a big flaw. I was about to dismiss this as impossible when I remembered that you can build a bunch of fodder to bait out them fury drones. I guess i'll just limit the visible area of the map during the commando phase and then the visible portion of the map back to what is it now when the player caps the battle lab.

Wow the string for the timer is missing, oops, never noticed that when I play tested because I was too busy defending :p

As for stuck cargo plane, err I have no idea which team that cargo plane belongs too, I think I'll just leave that in the map. There are way too many reinforcement teams with cargo planes.

The lone kirov on the bottom was supposed to be part of the attack. Welp I guess one extra kirov to deal with during the already insane attack.

------------

Going to be pushing out another update

Next time when I make a map, I will never ever try to hit the elevation cap again :p

EDIT: Updated

- Removed the ability to build mcvs, infilitrators, or use libra clone support power after capturing enemy buildings

- Lone Kirov at the bottom is now part of the attack

- Reduced visual glitches

- You cannot cheese the defense part by preemptively attacking and capturing the epsilon base before you capture the battle lab

- Timer string is fixed

Thanks for the feedback!

I think I unintentionally saved a customized ra2md.csf to the mental omega directory when I was editting my stringtable in Tibed editor,, because all texts in the game returned back to normal after I deleted the ra2md.csf, and thanks for the suggestion,, formerly I didn't know about the separated stringtable feature from MO,

My third fan mission "Ephemeral Hope" is now finished, featuring the Foehn in Anchorage, Alaska who begin to set up their Last Bastion, and need to push all the Epsilon forces out. This mission takes place after The Great Beyond and sometime in the middle of the Allies' attack on the Epsilon HQ in Antarctica. This mission features a very limited but true Foehn arsenal, with much more.

This mission is can be quite long, and there is quite a gap in difficulty between easy, normal, and mental, especially during the defensive stage of the mission. I must warn you Mental difficulty level is very hard during the defense stage.

Download the mission here, along with my two other maps:

Thanks a lot, though you must've taken A LOT of time to destroy psychic beacon. That was a huge oversight on my part. It should be fixed now just redownload through the original link again.

Although I won't say it would become "extremely easy" if you did this in mental (most of the attack waves are off-map reinforcements)

It's flat land there because the AI is supposed to pop up a lot of buildings in that stretch of land when the MCV is deployed (which it didn't in that screenshot because of the aforementioned oversight. The land in this mission is actually anything but flat (except for the water of course)

actually i enjoyed the mission a lot but when the epsilon forward base doesn't deploy the amount of reinforcement  reduced to 0 even when the timer runs out .

but after replaying the mission many times i noticed that the massive reinforcement  begin to arrive just When the Epsilon MCV deploys

Anyway playing that mission on mental was a real  nightmare i enjoyed it so much.

keep up the great work !

hi, i made another custom mission. It comes after my previous mission which I named Natural Order. This mission is called Rejuvenation. I randomly thought about mission names, so the mission names wouldn't represent the main idea behind the missions.

I also did some changes on Natural Order too, mainly to reduce it's difficulty.

This mission which is called Rejuvenation takes place in Perm Krai, so I think it is considered near to Moscow, where I currently assume that Yuri has strong headquarters around that city.

In this mission, you must capture two structures. After you have captured and defended them in the process, you need to clean the remaining PsiCorps bases.

I have tested the gameplay for each difficulty. Depending on how I use the strategy, it will result in different experiences.

On easy, you can take a free breath to build your base until Tier 3, because the enemy attacks are not so intense. Then on normal, it is more challenging because you must tighten your defense until you gather enough forces to capture structures, the enemy attacks are more intense. On mental, you will be pushed non-stop, so you must make your way to reach tier 3 faster, in order to make units as many as you can, especially the ones that can deal heavy damage to buildings and ground units. In my strategy, cleansing the enemy bases is the first priority as they are the main source of distractions, and later I can focus on the main objectives. There may be a dirty strategy to use in this mission too, I think you can figure it out when you play this mission.
I also store an unfinished mission in the download link. It is accessible, but I can't guarantee it's safe to play yet, because I plan to change the storyline in the future.

The download link is here.

How do you make the money boxes arranged in one spot? I tried but it seems like it is messed up.

I'm trying to make a challenge map: Rebellion Challenge.

I tried with my logic idea which I cloned the money box trigger eight times. And I knew it would be messed up like that.

When saving a map, within the map editor, I get this notification: "This map will need Mental Omega 3.3.X to be played. Save the map in Maps/Custom and change its extension to *.map"

- How does one get Mental Omega 3.3.X? - Is it available to the public, such as myself?

- Changing the extension just means replacing the '.yrm' part with a '.map' - Right?

Edit: Will I have to upload my maps somewhere, in order to play it with a friend? or, will it be like it was previously, where it just transfers to the other guy without me needed to manually upload it somewhere?

I'm somewhat new to this.

No. all it means is that you have to change the map name so, i made a map called "abandoned base wars (Allied vs Soviet)" when i saved it it saved as ABW.yrm. you have to change the underlined to .map

You’ll also have to be able to send the maps to your friend directly, mental omega does not do the map transfers.
