@DrunkMaster:
1).There are some small issues with map geometry, like if you scroll down to the very bottom of the map you'll see visual artifacts. Move the bottom map border a few units up. There's also some holes on the ramps to the left of the Satellite Hack Center, near the road.
2).It probably would be better if you'll need to destroy not all buildings, but only the crucial ones, and then make the AI sellout. Searching the whole map for some lonely Inferno Tower is just unnecessarily prolonging the mission IMO.
3).Maybe not a huge deal, but using the Borillo allows you to skip some of the stuff at the first phase.
Sadly I can't really give my opinion on the balance since I kinda cheated:
So basically you can just cap the Airfield and the Barracks and just start clearing the map with the heroes+Scuds+Apoc, then just capture the enemy bases. I think you should also prevent the construction of MCVs/Infiltrators and maybe some others stuff, like the Libra Clones.
Yeah, also the string for a timer is missing as you can see from the screenshot above.
Hopefully I didn't forget anything I wanted to mention.
EDIT: Played on Mental btw.
Also there's a cargo plane that is just stuck somewhere in the left enemy base, and also a lonely Kirov just sitting at the bottom left corner of the map.
1) Yeah that is something I struggled with a lot when I was making the mission. Since the elevation is so high in this map and some parts are really steep. I think at the bottom of the map I can probably fix it by simply making the map larger but keep to same visible area. Will look into this
2) I strongly considered this when I was making the mission, however, I ultimately decided to go against this idea, because in this mission, after you survive the huge epsilon attack, you can literally EZ snipe all critical buildings in no time with MiGs and Demo Truck Drops.
The fact that you need to destroy every single building of the map was why I put the Satellite Hack Center to help the player find every building (and help the player attack the massive enemy base in general as its already very difficult due to the terrain)
3) It's true you can bypass some threats with the borillo, however, i don't really think its too gamebreaking. U would still need the Tigr to take down the invaders guarding the MiG outpost.
I guess one can just simply rush in with the borillo as the invaders don't do squat against armor, with reznov/krukov/desos inside the borillo to kill adepts and other stuff in your way, but u miss out on an elite tigr with possible firepower/armor upgrade (depending on difficulty) during the defense phase. I guess this is a choice up to the player if the said players knows that one can avoid some obstacles using the borillo but leave the Tigr behind
4) Hmm, thats a big flaw. I was about to dismiss this as impossible when I remembered that you can build a bunch of fodder to bait out them fury drones. I guess i'll just limit the visible area of the map during the commando phase and then the visible portion of the map back to what is it now when the player caps the battle lab.
Wow the string for the timer is missing, oops, never noticed that when I play tested because I was too busy defending
As for stuck cargo plane, err I have no idea which team that cargo plane belongs too, I think I'll just leave that in the map. There are way too many reinforcement teams with cargo planes.
The lone kirov on the bottom was supposed to be part of the attack. Welp I guess one extra kirov to deal with during the already insane attack.
------------
Going to be pushing out another update
Next time when I make a map, I will never ever try to hit the elevation cap again
EDIT: Updated
- Removed the ability to build mcvs, infilitrators, or use libra clone support power after capturing enemy buildings
- Lone Kirov at the bottom is now part of the attack
- Reduced visual glitches
- You cannot cheese the defense part by preemptively attacking and capturing the epsilon base before you capture the battle lab
- Timer string is fixed
Thanks for the feedback!
