Ehh, been absent for a while and I don't know if this has ever been discussed before but:

I remember that devs once mentioned AI doesnt see shroud and that makes GAP generators useless in skirmish. So, since I observed that AI sees "area denial" as of Signal Inhibitors, maybe GAP generators may also be modified to work with the same logic, at least for the player's side on skirmish, maybe ?

You must be new to china then, because i see her being used outside of centy very often. Inside Centy you cannot chain EMP so putting her inside lowers her efficiency to somewhere around 40% - because you cannot manually target with her and she will always attack same cluster of units unless the one in middle is destroyed.

 

I remember you can make the Yunru inside the Centurion specific target by manually make Centurion target the unit within the Yunru EMP range.

that is true but ONLY for the first target she shoots, after that even if you tell the centurion to target something else she will still EMP the first target.

I have three things that comes to my mind:
1. It is obviously armed with Golden Rockets so;

a) It is going to be the Foehn naval AA Unit in case the devs have decided to nerf Swordfish.

b)It is going to be a unique naval unit, one comes to my mind is a "naval variant of LB Sweeper" , like it is submerged and fires volleys of Rocketa to incoming ground/air units

c) It shares many things in common with the RA3 Sea Wing/Sky wing, so it might be a flying submarine thing that was much suggested/speculated earlier. Also by considering the flying nature of Foehn.

As usual, a dinosauric name may come with it.

Edit: I once remember that devs mentioned they are planning to include at least one campaign-off naval unit. So I would say do not keep your hopes too high you are going to play spamming skirmish matches with it. :D

++ added: new naval unit for all Foehn subfactions - Whipray, a dedicated anti-aircraft ship, with Golden Rockets and a Confusion Ray

 

A couple things about this:

 

1. is it single-target confusion like a Deviatress

2. Do golden rockets have a lock-on time like a Teratorn?

3. How much will it cost?

 

change: Swordfish AA drone removed, price decreased from $1000 to $850, naval AA functionality moved to Whipray

 

 

I like most of this

Except the Swordfish cost buff, it was already far too good against Naval units, and spammable for $1000, imagine it at $850


Everyone seems to be arguing over how Yunru came into such a position of power,

yet nobody is willing to explain how Rahn's weapon is able to teleport a pair of shorts.

First of all, new content did not delay 3.3.2 but the wait for things which were originally supposed to appear in that update. The same goes for 3.3.3, Whipray was added in the meantime as we are still working on a mission that was always planned to be a part of this update (even the previous one, actually). Also, a dedicated AA ship for Foehn was always my intention, Swordfish's Shrike was a quick makeshift solution to Foehn having no AA naval weapons at the time.

 

Whipray's confusion ray is just like that of Deviatress.

That could be mentionned in the lore tet about the ship. Something like 'It took some time for the Foehn Revolt to assemble dedicated AA ships for its fleet. Stopgaps measures like the addition of Shrike Drones on the Swordfishes were required until a ship able to make a suitable use of the Golden Rocket system could be devised.'

What tech prerequisites this unit will have?
I'm guessing this is a T2 unit as other AA ships. If that is the case then it would help to improve naval combat balance quite a lot -early air vulnerability/jackal knight frame usage
How much will this unit cost?
Also, Deviatress weapon is an excellent air countermeasure sounds like fun and a fine way to help LB and HH against WoC at sea -ptearodon isn't immune to confusion right?

 

Can you please undo Alanqa buff? it is a big mistake those AA units are amazing ATM if there is a problem, it is in people's mentality, not the game.

And about naval combat again. Seawolfs need a stronger damage against Pteranodon specifically. Even having 3.3.3 changes into account, there is no way LC and CN could beat WoC at sea. Please, make the Seawolf a counter against the flying tank these way naval combat can be fairer. WoC would remain superior at sea but will need actual naval units to win instead of current multiporpose blob.

+ buff: Grumble anti-aircraft weapon effectiveness increased by 25-30%, 
range increased from 25 to 26

 

So now it will 1 shot kill Barracudas, right?

Deviatress is Single-Target
Angelshark does mass-aoe confusion, like an Irritator, very useful against masses of the basic ships.
