Fafnir shield doesent do what its supposed to-doesent block incoming fire like it should on my compuer-noting my computer in case its just my computer

in case you don't know what i am talking about, a somalian mothership is a refitted cargo ship the pirates refited into the closest thing they have to a battleship.it should have barbed wire fences and the occasianal mg nest along the sides and missle troopers,snipers and more missle troopers should be its main offence though

I like Creator's sarcasm. :p I just hope that new guys get it.
On rare occasion, he turns this sarcastic power into something creative (like someone talking about more powerful Nuke and then he provides us with Apoc Device).

firstly an austrailian army would be good 'cause astrailia is in a cold war with china.a navy mod would just be good,the king tiger is the heavyest thing you can give to gla,with navy mod you could say... make a laser battleship a superbattleship(China)camberra class carriers(They really are that good)aircraft carrier infantry paradrop Carrier(infantry general)nuclear battleship and so on,i know it's hard but blo*dy h*ll its worth it-and besides, when you get 60000 bucks in a match you have nothing to spend it on and i get bored making a ton of shiiite units.

No wonder why Creator has posted that sarcastic picture. Nunya bisness maybe you could consider making your own Australian mod because all the stuffs you said have been suggested (new faction & navy) and rejected repeatedly long time ago (before you even posted them).

Suggesting a unit to the mod requires more than 'I want this unit in' but you need to compare semi-realistic feel of Contra and ingame usage and balance (more in detail). Creator prefers unique and specialized units (which is also useful and often used by players in multiplayer) with specific factional trait considered. If your suggestion can match these values, Creator might consider adding it.

I would suggest to repair the ability called Impairment (GLA)- you cant hijack the planes or helicopters, you cant disables the strategy or techcenter, or smt.you cant take a control over the unit, when you use this ability on enemy force...

Impairment is used to destroy enemy cash (it works like China money stealing power but you don't get the money). It is used on enemy supply to reduce enemy money.

Well guys, I was busy for some time...
I played with AFG against a less skilled player (he was Nuke Gen) from 50k starting funds. I nearly lost this match however we played on a big map. AFG is VERY weak. Nuke pumped out a lots of Red arrows and Gattlings all over the place, and started an assault on my base. There was a few options:
- Defensive stance, means more Patriots, and concentrate my planes on enemy assault units, trying to hold them. Reaching rank 5 and hurray...
- Rush No1. Build up 3-4 Airfields, buy a lot of F-16, and some F-18, and go for enemy Command, then Dozer hunting
- Rush No2. The same as before, but in this version we go for enemy economy
- Defending, but this time we spread our base. More risk, but provides more money
No one of these options were effective against Nuke. Hundreds of my planes were shot down easily. Patriots were useless, Commanches are not cheap, MCVs were only obstacle in the way, etc. Only Security systems were effective, but not significantly.
A Gattling cannon can shot down 3 Commanches in a row. If the enemy has radar, even stealth aircrafts can't reach its destination.
And last, I spared money for Auroras, which were effective against significant targets (Command, Nuke silo, Propaganda), but they flew once.
I think there must be some Defences for AFG, to hold out, while he prepares an Air assault...

Hi, Dr.Lord, it has been a while since you last saw you. This is more fitting for Strategy Topic though.

Considering that you're playing 007, I would say that USA effectiveness is reduced in a match that money is insignificant (like starting 50k in big map). Since I consider myself AFG player, I'll give you some advice.
- Your first strategy is not that good. Turtling is discouraged in Contra. So, staying in one place is signing your own death warrant.
- Rush No.1 and 2 are not bad but when money is insignificant, it is not that effective.
- Spreading your base around without inter-connecting path is not a wise choice as your force is weaker. You need some concentration of units and supports.

I suggest semi-defensive strategy. You must hold of enemy from reaching your base while your planes raid them for EXP. Humvee + TOW missile is good for clearing Nuke Gen AA but you need to control them carefully. Raiding should be done in an unexpected direction (flying around to attack and flying around safely back to your base), so micro is vital. Rank 3 is very good for AFG as it can unlock A10 caller to support your defense and offense. Stealth plane is good for defensive and raid. Chimera is a good choice to gain rank for you. While your Humvees kill light ground AA, your JSF can take out group of tanks threatening the Humvees. You need a strong economy to replace the lost ones though. If enemy uses AA jet, your superior AA (F22 can be used with Dark Star) would kill them without much problem. A10 offensive is another good tactic once you reach rank 3. Sneaking some dozer behind the line and build up some of those stuffs can be very distracting to your enemy. It would be a hard match but it is not that hard.

In 008, there would be a lot of change and that remains to be tested.

hi everybody,
well i just wanted to ask what are the final changes for the game speed and economy,because reading through the change log parts there are alot of changes that has been canceled,which got me confused,so what are the final changes on those?

and could you add somehow the music of the chinese trailer somehow to the game,maybe in the final china mission or something,or maybe the music trailer of the faction goes to their final mission?

also are you guys ready to pwn me? i may come back online soon :p (or maybe not :p )

As we tested alpha version,we give feedback to Creator about economy.I think it will stay as in 007.
I didnt play contra online few months because i need to uninstal and reinstal every time when i wanna play 007 or work on 008.That screwed my zero hour somehow.So i decided to wait for 008 to play online.

Same, im not playing 007 online anymore. Too much of a pain to uninstall, reinstall, etc.

Maybe I could provide you with easy installer/uninstaller BAT files. It involves file/folder renaming only and it works pretty fast. One click and Contra 007 is activated/deactivated. I might make one for 008 Alpha too.

A- I want new USA general : USA Assault Forces
1- Marines , M1 Abrams , m9e Abrams , Advanced USA tanks

B -USA AirForce :
1- New small airfield for Helicopters

2- The Airport encapsulate Air fighters and Bombers
( The airport protect the planes
( It is impossible to destroy planes unless the airport is destroyed first )

C- - The GLA generals have

1- a Bulldozers for building instead of workers
2- Supply trucks for gathering resources

A. Any new General idea is rejected by Creator a long time ago. That idea is too similar to China Tank Gen or Shockwave Armor Gen.

B1. Personally, I dislike the idea for too many production structures for a faction which already needed multiple of them to be effective. Adding more is a burden. However, if there is a strategic value to it, Creator might consider it. What is strategic value of Helipad?

B2. Encapsulate Airfield is good for AFG (not sure about the code possibility though) but it might disturb the balance. As AFG player, I like this idea but I don't want the game to be imbalanced. Possibility of the code might be making the airfield height as tall as CC and it might prevent some direct-fire projectile from reaching the aircraft inside, but artillery or other explosive weapon can still damage the aircraft.

C. This would make GLA much less unique. Creator has work hard to make GLA far more unique than vZH (mobile CC, mobile supply). So, this suggestion would probably be rejected.

The best thing in contra that makes it enjoyable , intelligent mod is
1-Strategy , Palace , Propaganda center are at level 3
2- Super missiles and super weapons are at level 5

1-What are the tools or programs for modifying generals zero hour ?
I want to add new tanks , weapons to Zero hour.
What are the tools to create them and add them to the game ?

Same as any other modding tools. Google them. For INI editing in the BIG files, use FinalBig. You can use many programs.
