wow....it's been a while.

ok, so here's me thoughts. Dwarves and Gobs need an exclusively subterranean unit, even though they have tunnels. The unit could be represented by one of those CaH stars when it's underground. These dudes are similiar to each other in function, although the dwarf would be more for surveying the enemy, while the gob would be mroe for sabatauge. The gob would be able to set up a tunnel anywhere for 45 seconds. So..yeah, base camping, then a ton of gobs spew out from behind your forces. both of these units can be seen if they go under an enemy unit.
If I were you and you were me I'd have a different face.

Suggestion found on other forum:

In the movie it rains just as the isenguard army starts to assemble outside. I was thinking if we made a guess at how long it takes on average to build your first units ( if your the faction attacking helms deep) and at that time have the sky go dark and the rain start to come down. Possibly even a flash of lightning or the sound of thunder every now and then.

Now I know what your thinking that will make some of the powers on the power tree usless. But if the power is clicked on it will still give that temporary bonus, the only difference is that it will already be raining. If you must see the change though I guess it could become twice as dark if the power is clicked on to show that it's working. And of course as the last enemy is destroyed the sun starts to shine again.

We still have the Freezing Rain bug that pretty much renders all rain effects on some maps useless... :(

I don't know if this has already been suggested, but have you thought about putting an "age" system into S.E.E., similiar to Age of Empires? They shouldn't be called ages, of course, but you get the idea... maybe you could name them after different phases of the war... first is peace, where you can build only the most basic units, second is beginning of the war, where Mordor and Isengart start their first assaults and where you can build more advanced units, and third is total war, where war rages all upon Middle-Earth and all factions throw their best and most expensive units into the fray.

These ages should be quite expensive, because you have so much money anyway, and I think they would work really well with the "slow" gameplay of S.E.E.

What do you think?

Build me an army worthy of Mordor!

The Game already has three phases. And because of the production times of units, there already is a limit. You need certain technologies, builidings and building levels to acquire certain units. That already takes time.

I just want to write my ideas about POwers..

for motw when we summon the army of dead they should come with their king in the movie but with more battalions remember pellenor fields they were a Huge army lots of them went into minas trith and some of them were hunting mumakils and they should be stronger I think I usually prefer earthquake..

in the book of return of the king there were hobbit archers and their leader Bowman Nick Cotton.. if you read the book you know they drove saruman's men from shire in the Battle of Bywater. IMO when we summon hobbit alliases they should come with some battalions of bowman, stone throwers, knife warriors and with their special leader stronger Bowman Nick cotton maybe with a leadership and a special arrow power :p

and if Gondor and Rohan would be different sides..

summoning the rohan allies would be biggest power for Gondor. Because when we summon them they should come like rotk movie like when they arrived to Minas trith :p with at least 10 battalion of Rohirrim and with their leaders Theoden, Eomer, Eowyn and maybe Gamling <3

and summoning elven allies would be just for Rohan.. they should come like in two towers movie with at least 10 battalion of lorien archers and of course Haldir should leading them..

and most I want to see when we summon rainforcements if they come from a corner of the map on foot that would be awesomely realistic imo..

Scorpion King got a Warg from Lauri... that was the last thing that Lauri did before he left. We haven't tested it yet though... But I hope it will work =) It will be in Beta 4.5 too (if the model works) :p

More from the same guy:

Oh and one more idea I thought of a while back was for the power tree for the isenguard faction. Everybody knows that you can build the bombs from the seige works and the berserker from the urik pit to blow up the bombs. But it can be a real pain to actually get these two units two connect. My thought was to make it a spell on the power tree. Possibly a middle to high tier power as those bombs can do some damage.

Once the player has earned enough power points to achieve the use of it. The player clicks on it and then the curser turns into that star to signify that your going to attack a particular area. Once the player clicks on the area the two uriks carrying the bomb appear from a short distance behind where the player clicked on and place the bomb on the target. Then after the bomb is placed the berserker could appear from a distance and automaticaly running to the bomb with his torch alight to blow up the bomb. I say that the berserker must appear from a distance away so the enemy have a chance to kill him before he reaches the bomb.

Another way to go may be just to have a spell that makes those two uriks carring a bomb ( maybe even 2 of them )appear and place the bomb on the target. And the player still has to build the urik.

I was looking at the official site for bfme2

http://www.ea.com/of...rings/bfme2/us/

And I noticed the dwarves in the background, they actually don't exist in the game. But wouldn't it be nice if they did. My thought came when watching the movie 300 for the first time last week ( THIS IS SPARTA..... had to be said smile.gif ). What about a new battalion of dwarves that has a different way of attacking ( this could also apply to the towerguard for the men of the west faction as well as other factions I'm sure ) This battalion will have the same ability as the tower guard to bunch together to give added defence, but also an added thrust attack. Just like they did in the 300 movie.

They would hold their shields to protect each other and then thrust out with thier spears ( or axes in the dwarves case ) This thrust ability ( which could only be used when their in their defensive stance )would have a recharge timer so it couldn't be used all the time but it would push back the enemy and maybe even give splash damage. they could possibly have the nomal upgrades like mithril mail and burning axes....maybe. Or possibly make them unable to be trampled if in defensive mode as the dwarves don't seem to have any infantry that can't be trampled... unless you count siege.

Oh and I was thinking about the black gates of mordor and thought would'nt it be cool to be able to open and close them if you were the player on the inside. Then I thought that would make them invincible. but what if the gates had a timer on them.

One timer could automatically open them after an amount of time has passed or if the gates were not opened within the timel imit of the recharge of the doors then the opponent would win. In a sense scarying the opponent back into mordor.

He sure has a lot of ideas :p.

Hehe yeah, he should register here :p

1) Not a bad idea... SOMETHING has to be done about the mines anyway, cause the AI can't use them as of now. Same with Grond and Siege Towers for Mordor. Even the Rams have problems since they seem to want to attack units instead of structures sometimes...

2) Those look like Phalanx to the left and Axethrower to the right, and on second pic. Making units act that way would require animation skills at least at Cahik's level, and noone here have that.

3) Black Gate could be animated, but it has no damage states so it would look weird when destroyed.

another idea:

rise up the attack rate of the heroes/soldiers with swords in game.
and legolas and elves with the arrows fire rate too
and Sauron for sure.

because they move too slow in game. it takes like 2 secs per attack..

To some extent (regarding some heroes like Gothmog for instance), I agree... That is also planned for future polishing =)

But naturally, you'll also need a hefty GPU, like Skybaxx said ^_^

Not sure if its possible, but the current horse archers situation is a joke, maybe enable them to shoot while moving and to balance it out make them miss more if they do that? because I don't really see the point with this.
