Does Balin really need to be that obese?

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Why do we need Balin? He was nothing really special in the books and Newline just gave him an honorable mention because they wanted to make it look like the fellowship thought Moria was safe and Dwarf-controlled. It was a really stupid move on PJ's part. Dwarf heros are some of the strongest and hardest to kill in the whole game. We are fine with Dain, Gloin, Gimli, Brand, Thorin, and I guess Bilbo. Isint 6 enough?

Well, i've noticed that Dwarves and Gobs tend to be massively outmatched by heroes, especially MotW. The gobs need a tank hero (hopefully the new troll hero), and the dwarves need an archer. The gobs could actually use an archer, too.

Well now that we have Brand the Dwarves had their archer! Plus Bilbo throws rocks if that counts...We dont need any more heros then that!

;) So you're all saying we should scrap any further heroes for them?

Does Balin really need to be that obese?

Hehe , ask Juissi? He is a bit stout yes... Maybe they drank a lot of ale in Moria? ^_^

I like him. looks like I imagined him when I read the Hobbit. I think that his clothes should be more adorned, thought he ressetled Khazad-Dûm.

About the powers, mabye he can be a support hero, for resource and for the army:
Lvl 1 - King of Durin's Folk: a 50% bonus leadership (or more)
Lvl 2 - Treasures of Khazad-Dûm: boost the resource's production.
Lvl 3 - "Baruk Khazad! Khazad Ai-menû!": an area effect, like ralling call or the king Dain's power.
Ultimate power: King of Moria: Passive. Boost the resource production, mabye 100%.

For Thorin's:

Lvl 1: Oakenshield: as already suggested (I don't where) he cuts a piece of a tree and use it as a shield, for 50% armor bonus.
Lvl 2: Orcrist Bearer: 150% damage bonus. If battling orcs, Orcrist should glow like Sting.
Lvl 3: Arkenstone: Heals all the units and give a leadership bonus
Ultimate power: Defender of the Dwarven Realm(or Defender of Erebor): Give him a 300% more damage, and a leadership of 100%. Lasts for 10 seconds. (like the rampage he gone with his 13 friends against Bolg, in the battle of the Five Armies)

I was thinking and I would like to ask if we could do somethink with those structures that are in maps that are close to dwarven settlements. There's a thing like a food warehouse, a blacksmith and other stuff, and mabye that could be used for something, like the blacksmith for researching the dwarven unit upgrades, leaving the forge works just with unit production. The food warehouse could be used to research economical upgrades.
Like:

Dwarven Blacksmith:
Generate resources (less than the mine, let's say, +10)
Research Forged Blades, Mithril Armor, Flaming arrows and flaming shots (for catapults, i don't remember the name of the upgrade).

Warehouse (I couldn't think in a better name):
Research upgrades like the ones in the marketplace for the MotW.

Concerning to units, I suggest that the banner carrier of the axe trowers be replaced by a cart. No trample, just to represent from where they get all those axes =p. Mabye a chariot, or something like it, with the banner and filled with axes.
But what I think that would be the best option is to replace them with crossbows. Tolkien himself said that they used crossbows. I don't remember the exact passage now, but I think that is in the Hobbit), and crossbows are more logical than infinite axes been trowed and them hurting the enemy when hit. I mean, cannot it hit the enemy with the handle?

- I recognize the "market"... but not the blacksmith? OCuld you provide screens of it?

- Cart idea is good, but if the cart falls, would the horde just spawn a new cart from nowhere? :/ I know, many have suggested crossbows and even if we could do it, I still think there are soooo many archers in the game and I think the axethrowers are unique in this way. But I'm not sure, we might do it that way instead. But I like the cart idea too/better... except for the problem when it falls.

Im just saying that Dwarves are a quality of quanity type of faction. It seem we are going the other way with it when it comes to heros.

^agree, and dwarven battalions are huge. they, MotW, and elves need smaller batts IMO. kinda like RotWK's.

I'll post the screens as soon as possible.

About the axetrower problem, I think that, with the lack of any other option, it should be spawned from nowhere. FOr the crossbows, we could get them from the Deluxe edition, if 2playgames agree. When I tested it, I had a problem with pink quadrels :) but I think that it couldbe fixed (if this problem didn't happened only with me).

erm....i don't like the cart idea. They've got axes on their backs, it's not like the RotWK axethrowers that get them from nowhere. And the cart would be awkward, especially wwhn the battalion starts moving through weird areas. I like the crossbowmen...i always thought you could have dwarven archers, and the crossbow could be an upgrade to em. maybe.
