Druadan Hunters...well, if implemented, I'd like to see them controlled individually. The reasoning on this being that they never took up arms in open warfare, and if they did fight, they did it in the shadows with silent, poisonous darts. So I can imagine a "stealth anywhere" type unit with either a shortbow or blowpipe - I'd prefer the first, but the second has been shown before thus giving the team something to work off of. A unique asset of theirs would be that they'd be (one of?) the only Good unit to utilize poison damage.
Of course, they'd have little defence and armour, but I can easily imagine them having a large amount of health - and their stealth capabilities - to compensate.
Cheers,
-mike

One other cool fact for the druadan is that they carved statues out of stone and wood that looked just like them and where used to scare orcs.... so i was thinking they could also drop one of this statues on the ground (like the goblin king does with his totem, and galadriel with the mirror of galadriel) and it should have the effect that screech has or the defensive tower of mordor(can't remember the name)...

I was also wondering what rob thinks about this...Cheers

Yes, they did make totem-like "guard stones" (I'll find their real name later) that acted similarly to the "Warg Sentry" currently ingame.

Uh...warg sentries are a couple of wargs that attack people when they get close. How is a statue gonna do that? :p

Lol, statue is going to come to life and attack you. Anywayz, I think you might mean it can be like the Mordor Gate Watchers. You can use the good factions statue as it first to have it in the game and while it's out you guys can work on a model/skin.

I agree with Yoda, how did statues attack, unless it wasn't a statue, but then it wouldn't be called a statue would it? :p

Seriously. Check Unfinished Tales if you have it.
Though, the legend itself kind of helps balance-wise in that whatever damage the statue took (in the lore, the burning of it's feet) also effects the Pukel-man that created it.

Huh...that'd be interesting gameplay-wise. I can just image them shooting posion darts out like Indianna Jones though...maybe it's just anticipation for the 4th movie :p

I just thought of something, doesn't the ent moot for Rohan cost a lot.
Maybe you can make it regular price and you can buy and upgrade in the ent moot to allow it to spawn 3 ents every now and then, or you can make it automatically do that when the building reaches like level 2 or 3, however much ents it costs to make it near or equal to the price of the ent moot now.

Well...right now they spawn with 4 ents, which is really quite useful :xd: I like it how it is.

ok to help clear out... when the druadan carved a statue he left a part of his energy inside the statue(if he wanted) so that the statue could come alive... the only problem with this was that if the statue was harmed so was the carver..... i never thought that they would get this effect...i was thinking that the statue would have the fear effect that the mordor gate watchers have
the druadan could also stay unmoved for days... so they could themselves look like statues

ok soo basically there are two forms now ( ideas ):

Yoda s Indiana Jones ( which one i like more ) - the druadan place a statue on ground, that will either shoot poisoned arrows ( and might be stealthed - which would be really interesting ), or act as Mordor watcher, and time to time scare away enemies who come near
that one is cool.

second is elfh. and alin. idea of statue that would come alive if enemy comes near ( expecting, it will turn " unlive " again after theyre dead - wery hard to code i think ), it would take dmg, and the dmg would be transfered to the druadan who placed it ( lets say druadan could place 3 of these, till he dies - if not healed meanwhile ). Soo basically there would be lifetransfer of dmg - same dmg that the statue takes go to druadan who placed it as well.

though it sounds interesting, it kinda makes me say this : If a Druadan could create " living " statue, why Saruman couldnt create giant colos of steel ( A. of Isengard ). coz i bet Saruman as one of Istary had much more power ( or " mana " ) to do soo

but if the druadans are made as inn unit, i can quiote think of them as mhh (miniherohorde), with abilities like, stealth, poison arrows, and guard statue/totem/whatever. But the question is, under which faction would they be ?
we could do for Rohan unique inn faction like SF for Gondor ( having Beornings, Druadans, and some other things you guys mentioned or could find in tolkiens work )
