Well, yes Numenorians saved them but in the fight against Witch-king Arnor needed help from elves who came from Lindon & Rivendell

Copy it from some other guy

... Of course. But that's because they have had civil war before, and some extraordinary cold winters brought by the witch king. And from the very beginning - Arnor-Dunedain were much less (in numbers) than their gondorian counterparts. So they were just too few to effectively fight Angmar - and the next best thing around were... the elves (at least that's thats what JRR's books tell).
But anyway. I think, because Arnor is the "nothern Kingdom of the men of Numenor in Middle Earth" they should be the strongest and most enlarged faction within "Arnor", if you choose to play them. Otherwise I could play Elves...
So long..

That said, the royal knight battalion is one of the best units in game, and when you start getting dunedain with fire arrows, longshot can take down a rather large army, provided you have enough rangers.

Get it hereAnyways - Does anyone know how to get this cool "RJ Fan/Player"-banner?
This is true, although im sure Sauron hunted the elves first as he thought they had a better chance of defeating him. The elves only needed the Dunedain because so many of them had been killed. As Tolkien wrote - in Beginning and the Middle of the Second Age, during the first fall of darkness - nearly all elves (at this time Noldor) were killed or hunted down by sauron. Only the arrival of a Numenor (Dunedain) Fleet with their amazing strength spared them.

Is it just me or doesn't the Arnor dunedain rangers long shot work?

Are u combining ranger hordes, cause that made it fail iirc. Otherwise, it'll work fine if individual hordes are using it.
Ok that explains it. Cheers

Y'know, we could have it be the 'Ally with Cardolan' upgrade, with the current 'Dunedain' instead being 'Men of Cardolan'. So that we have a base Arthedain/Arnor faction, and Cardolan allies.

Yes the elven alliance upgrade I think is a smart idea but the dunedain.... (aren't the normal soldiers dunedain any way?)
Yep - you're right. "Dunedaín" or Dun-Edain means nothing more than "Men from the West" in Sindarin (elven language).
So it's a common description for the people of Arnor and Gondor. Gondor means... wait, let me see ... "Land of Stone" or "Stoneland" (White Mountains).
"Arnor" itself means "kingsland" or "Land of the king", because it was founded by Elendil.
"Ar-" means "King"... That's why Elessar also was called Aragorn (Ar-Agorn) - he was the hair to the Dunedaín-thrones.
So the Dunedain were the people of Gondor and Arnor. Soldiers, Rangers, Riders and citizens included.
But more specifically the people from Arnor - in Gondor they interbred with "common" people.
Fazit: I totally agree - That Dunedain-Fortress Upgrade doesn't seem to make much sense.
Guess would make much more sense if you could "unlock" some specials with it - for example the "royal knight" battalion. Or a special hero or so...
