Well, there wouldn't have been too many that survived the fall of Angband, and since they'd take awhile to rebuild their numbers, there wouldn't be enough to form an army. ;)

I don't think that there should be artificial limits. Just if you fast tech them and try to spam them chances are you are going to get you butt kicked.

Bloody hell people, I get sick of being ignored sometimes, I get enough of it at school.

On a suggestive note, should there be a step up form of spearmen? A more powerful cavalry-aimed type of spearman?

It's just that I noticesd there was no elite class of spearmen, is there not meant to be one?

It seems to me that an elite Pike / Spear unit would go better in Rohan than anywhere else, really, or Isengard. They seem to be all about Pikemen. Everyone else seems to be strictly bows and/or swords, know what I mean? Angmar, certainly, doesn't seem like the kind of faction that needs elite Pikes - after all, when did Angmar, or Arnor, have to go up against really good cavalry? Elite pikes belong in Isengard, thats my belief.

But do not think for a moment that we shall not fight. We shall not go quietly into the dusk. We shall not throw down arms and flee, or surrender. We will go on, we will not falter. And even should we die, we shall make an end that will be remembered for thousands of years. For beautiful Arnor that is, for glorious Númenor that was! We are the Dúnedain, we are the Men of the North, and our foes will remember our steel!'

Perhaps Angmar could become the faction without an elite pike unit, but make that up for its counter infantry unit?

I find Angmar to be an awesome faction. EA did a good job coming up with the idea of Thralls. However, skins and balancing is all i want for them. Perhaps make a better looking snow troll or hill troll, from scrap. A hero horde i believe is needed as well. And another hero, who is a black numenorian or dark dunedain or whateva.

I disagree, Denethor. Honestly, Angmar needs a lot of work. They're way off base of what they should be.

1.) Sorcerers should either be very limited in numbers, or removed from the game. (I vote for the latter, since only the Maia and the Istari could use obvious physical magic like the Sorcerers do. The Elves used subtle magic for nature, and the Black Numenoreans used magic more in tune with the body and mind (destroying other peoples bodies and minds, that is, and prolonging their own lives), not calling a rain of corpses from the sky and freezing people to the ground.)

2.) Black Numenoreans weren't that far north. We've discussed the possibility of it and a bunch of us agree that there were perhaps one or two high ranking Captains or something, but definitely not in the numbers that EA put in-game. Me and a few others want them put in as Mini-Hero Hordes, with selectable weapons and troop buffs / enemy debuffs.

3.) They don't have an eerie enough feel to them. People want to add vampires (basically huge bats) and werewolves (just werewolves, but not like the European ones - these were always animals, in Tolkiens world, just like vampires could only ever be bats). While I don't think that its a good idea to add them, I understand why people want 'em. It needs to be shaken up some, needs to be original, and that would definitely make it more original. They're not canon, they belong in Angband and with Morgoth, but hey. Nobody is making anyone use them :D They also want wights, which I agree with 100%. Angmar DID have wights, that much was proven when the Witch-king sent his wights to the Barrow-Downs.

4.) Trolls and wolves are too much a part of Angmar as it is. Angmar was a faction of evil men dominating good men while controlling a few beasts and trolls who knew their role and did their job, it definitely was not a petting zoo.

Does that basically sum up what this has all came down to in 47 pages?

You get what I mean, Wanderer. Thats what I was thinking. Because the army of Isengard at Helms Deep was going to head east and attack Minas Tirith from the north after taking out Rohan. But they didn't account for Mithrandir, and Aragorn.

If a unit of elite Pikemen are going to be added to the mod, my vote is that they be added to Isengard, not to Angmar or Arnor. Those should be kept swords and bows for the most part, with some backup forces wielding pikes and spears, and Angmar using monster hordes as support.

Are you talking about Forodwaith? o.o I don't really get what you're asking.

Mount Gundabad was north-east of Angmar and Carn-Dum, on the eastern edge of the northern-most line of the Misty Mountains. Forodwaith was directly north of Carn-Dum and Angmar, but above that, I'm not sure. I think it was Beleriand...

So if Forodwaith is the remains of Beleriand, would that mean that any surviving werewolves and vampires would rally to the Witch-King?

Not at all. The werewolves and vampires were much, much further north than that. Angband was on the top-most edge of Middle-earth, thats where the vast majority of the werewolves and vampires would've been grouped, around Melkor. Its doubtful that any survived past the destruction of Angband and Melkor, at the hands of the Valar. And if any even did survive the idea of them lasting the thousands upon thousands of years between the defeat of Melkor to the rise of Angmar with the few numbers that would've been sustained after the defeat of their Lord is so impossible that its comical.

If the chances of their survival are slim to the point of impossibility, why are we suggesting implemeting them?

If you knew this from the beggining, why are you telling us now?

The hell?

I was always against the implementation of werewolves and vampires. Everyone fought with me to add them, so I gave up to spite the fact that they don't belong. I think better things could be done than vampires and werewolves, myself. Like I said, they can (or will) add an exciting edge to the Angmar faction, but they're not in the least canon. If Rob wants to go for a real Lord of the Rings feel, werewolves and vampires, while an interesting idea, should not be added.

If you guys need ideas, give me some time and I can do some searching online and in the books, and find something that might fit more. If the team is interested, anyways.
