Very wrong. I've beaten obsidian sands without brute spam, only had to build like 10 brutes to clear out the city and that's it.

Other than that, I used lashers, gattling tanks, Invaders, Basallisks and Magnatrons. Late game I used maraduars to clear out reinforcements.

It seems that Boris, Reznov and Krukov have their own cameos, is this a hint that they may eventually become buildable?

Sorry for not making that clear, 'brute force' simply means to clash through things with mostly pure force and little technique, like trying every possible password to crack it. It has nothing to do with Brutes :p

Well, tried Relentless on Easy. It is relentless, the enemy is. First try I lost at the defense part at the start (didn't notice that I could chronoshift units in). Then second time I just survived enough to get the MCV, but the Weather Controller got destroyed a second later. And then the rest was a hour of slow death as I try to somehow defend myself futilely until I run out of money and my base gets One With Yuri'd to the ground. I was trying to migrate into the ally base, but alas couldn't. Wish I could unpack my conyard to chronoshift it there to the ally base. At the end, I just noticed that I ran out of time of the day, so just quit (which is still the largest problem of the mod due to lack of saves/short missions).

In general, the mission felt tiring and suffers from the same "can't catch a breath due to constant attacks" like Firewalking in 3.3.0. Also barely any space to move, the whole map is an enemy base.

The new missions are definitely too long to finish. Relentless and Obsidian Sand are similar in the fact that there is no way to quickly end the game without having to cross through a base full of enemy and there is either no gap in theirs defenses or the objective is searching and killing every single unit on the map 1 by 1. And that's feel like a chore.
I fend off every single attack with no problem. But the siege battle took ages to end.

BTW, threat of dread.....4 god damn silos....Gotta give up and watch the walkthrough.

Just use an Attack Force of Catastrophe Tanks with Desolators inside plus repair drones and all Scud launchers you get and go through the middle right into the big base and use the tanks for killing all the small stuff enemy sends you and destroy the base with scud launchers care for the Iron Dragons use spy plane to spot them and use Scuds to destroy them and slowly destroy the base while you defend your base with usual stuff

ToD Protip. Leave the Epsilon base alone. Feed the silos with some fodder to blow up. Let them kill each others as you push into Yunru's base

Just borrow a few drillers, load them with engies, Morales and saboteurs and head to the tunnel entrance. Prepare iron curtain to unload the saboteurs safely and some stuff like shelter or flame turret to distract hammers fire to kill terror drones before you reach the place, and you can finish the mission even before the first nuke is armed. While saboteurs shut down the power, you build barracks right inside Yunru's base and snipe nukes/windbelts with Morales.

Backed after chilling too long in the freezer. Seems the story continues to become complicated.

My view so far:
Allies are back in the game and discover Yuri's HQ in Antartica, however the spare batteries would make that operation an all-or nothing assault.

Soviets in still their paranoia continue to dig too deep. Which led too many causalities... RIP Morales, we'll miss ya.

Epsilon and 1 mission? Okay, they skipped the other one. Anyways the Arab-African dude decided to rebelled after seeing too much crap and considers the gifted snowflake a threat to all, since the only person who holds the leash is Yuri itself. I do assure this won't be the last Epsilon rebellion.

I wonder when the coops will pop up, since they carry other stories in another angle.

you do indeed run out of money, but if you could just somehow survive till you get Thor gunships, that's your best defense. For the naval part, I went for 24 destroyers with 3 aircraft carriers, took out most of their navy but out of nowhere like 20 piranhas show up and that gg'd my naval combat, so I focused on the ground, I destroyed the dominator by launching one weather storm directly on top of it and then rushed in with Lighting Rod Thors, so that put an end to my base getting anihillated and it's all a walk in the park from there. I don't think this mission pressures you as much as Firewalking though : P

There's a whole lot of Oil Derricks in that mission, I hope you're capturing them.

It doesn't compare to Firewalking, and your ally is actually sliiiightly more competent and useful here compared to Stormbringer's. One of the Dominators are sure to hit them. but they will always rebuild and actually has their own WCD.

Also, there are bonuses near the MC'ed dock

I've captured those Oil Derricks I could get to. Though I did forget about the ones near the start of the mission, though mostly because that starting outpost was destroyed with several basilisks floating there, so I had no chance to capture the derricks there. But I got the ones on the little islands. Wasn't enough. I could get to tech center tech, but then it, and several other buildings were One With Yuri'd and had no money to properly rebuild.

Still have to retry, probably a better time than 10pm. :V

Anyone try to capture that topol launcher and get used to finish mission faster?
i capture it with sw almost at the beggining so the enemy units around destroy it and have quiet about that.

Did it.

I thought it was going to dump 4 nukes at my Conyard, turned out it also target the Epsilon bases.

And yeah, SCUD meant everything as you guys said. Without them there is no good way to take out the Iron Dragons.

Fun fact: SCUDs were added in the very recent builds, previously your reinforcements were... bomb buggies. Totally useful there.

Ah yes saw that one of the YT runs. The player's AI keeps the enemy busy, even said enemy keeps pressing some harassment from time to time. And they can drop lighting storms too.

Oh man, the AI builds all the EA units except for the one which would be most useful, the prism tank. So i just teleported my units to their side and just defended mine to break through the harsh northern defences with hailstorms.

The chronosphere is actually quite usefull for taking out both of the dominators before they can fire a single time. Since both of them are quite close to the edge of the base you can teleport 2 prisms, 2 paladins, 2 tortoises, 1 charon and some archons for repair all from the base reinforcements just to the south of the closer dominator. It even gives free scouting at that area, so i think that was a hint. When that one is finished you can basicly do the same for the second dominator at the right of the base.

Also, i suspect that the next mission will be defending the engine in this exact same area, as in the end of the mission it was stated that the battery needed to be charged here since the backup was destroyed. I assume what happened is that when the fleet moved away from the engine for a frontal assault on the base another epsilon fleet immediatly seized the oppertunity to attack the engine and destroy the battery, hence the panicked retreat. So maybe after the soviets and the epsilon this will become the allied version of juggernaut with the epsilon trying to take the engine when charging. They have been trying to go for that engine basicly non stop have they? Basicly every allied mission after it was introduced has been defending the engine in some way or another.

Huh, that's actually a very good advice, will try it out when I'm playing again!

Any advice for the first part when defending the outpost?

Not much from me really, just go along with it... Maybe try to scout and gain the ground much earlier.
