Okay, doing as Sul requested, here's some quotes I could gather about the Goblins and Orcs of Moria:
"...a great dark wolf-shape could be seen halted, gazing at them. A shuddering howl broke from him, as if he were a captain summoing his pack to the assault."
-Page 290, A Journey in the Dark, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
"...through the throat of one huge leader...of a great wolf-chieftan..."
-Page 291, A Journey in the Dark, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
"'It is as I feared,' said Gandalf. 'These were no ordinary wolves hunting for food in the wilderness. Let us eat quickly and go!'"
-Page 291, A Journey in the Dark, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
"There are older and fouler things than Orcs in the deep places of the world.'"
-Page 301, A Journey in the Dark, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
"...orc scimitars with blackened blades."
-Page 313, The Bridge of Khazad-dum, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
"...drums, drums in the deep...they are coming."
-Page 314, The Bridge of Khazad-dum, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
"'There are Orcs, very many of them,' he said. 'And some are large and evil: black Uruks of Mordor. For the moment they are hanging back, but there is something else there. A great cave-troll, I think, or more than one."
-Page 316, The Bridge of Khazad-dum, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
"...a huge orc-chieftan, almost man-high, clad in black mail from head to foot, leaped into the chamber; behind him his followers clustered in the doorway. His broad flat face was swart, his eyes were like coals, and his tongue was red; he wielded a great spear. With a thrust of his huge hide shield he turned Boromir's sword and bore him backwards, throwing him to the ground. Diving under Aragorn's blow with the speed of a striking snake he charged into the Company...Frodo was hurled against the wall and pinned...But even as the orc flung down the trncheon and swept out his scimitar..."
-Page 317, The Bridge of Khazad-dum, Book II, The Fellowship of the Ring.
---
That's all that I could find, not as much about Moria as I thought :xcahik_:
I'll probably hit up Gondor later, followed by Evil Men. I'm not exactly looking forward to Mordor, as they cover all three books :good:
Cheers,
-mike

Hehe you know, as much as I like these Tolkien quotations... maybe they would fit better in a thread like this one:
http://forums.revora...showtopic=49837 :thumbsupsmiley:

They will quickly get burried in these suggestion threads otherwise...

goblin towers could have poison arrows and fire arrows just like the archers do :thumbsupsmiley:

I think Goblin wallsshould have very weak walls.
They are an agressive race and no defensive.
This Walls are exactly the same as the Goblins:

i think for anti-ship units the goblins could get 2 small dragons, kinda like drogoth but smaller and cost 2000-3500 each. they would be really strong versus ships and infantry but weak versus buildings and arrows.

The Goblin King has this power where he puts a skull with pole in the ground to give sight to the Goblins in that area.

How about adding the Mordor Watcher Fear effect to that Skull with Pole?
It makes having the ability more important, and the Goblins can guide enemy Armies away from important defendable spots.

That would mean stealing some models from ROTWK...hey I dont mind. I like the idea, cuz at least it makes them different to Isen warg riders.

And about Moria being the weakest....maybe the AI cant use them well but i know that I love using them, their late game is brilliant. Drogoth happens to be one of the best heroes, if not the very best. I would say, better than Gandalf, and second only to the ring heroes.

As for suggestions, I think the Goblin King's character art needs to be revamped, as does the Moria Guard. A fat dumpy goblin king looks ridiculous...Moria orcs should look nightmarishly lean and sinewy. And the Moria "football team" needs to go. I might draw up some concept...

how abouts making it so giants can pick up trees to fight with? but say only after level 2? and then they can switch between the rocks and the tree? and also maybe make it so the cave trolls can throw away their tree in order to use rocks again? and last; how abouts changing the cave trolls so they can throw any sort of unit? not just goblins? ( that way you could use an enemy unit against the enemy :wink_new: )

i forgot which race has the fire drakes, but i think it would be good for the fire drakes to change into some flying dragon when they reach lvl 10? and moria's hordes should be twice the size of the current one, but the command points, and cost is lower, and they are 20% weaker. since they are an agressive race, would it make sense for them to have more units in a horde? just a thought

If you were to go to ROTWK, I would very much support you scavenging the Hill and Snow trolls and Wolf Riders for the Goblins; provided you also use Rhogash and replace one of the Fire Drakes with him. (3 is too many IMO.)

But here are some other ideas!

-Make Drogoth's Incinerate more effective vs. buildings. For a Level 10 power, its dissappointing. Why not give him a Mezmerize Hero power, too?
-Save the Balrog for Mordor only, and consolidate the Dragon powers under the Goblins.
-Give the Summon Dragon more nuts vs. buildings, as well as a Mezmerize Hero and a passive Fear ability?
-I don't know why you seem to hate spiders so much! Although they are a bit cheesy, I suppose. However, I urge you to have Great Spiders as a singular super-unit, which are stealthed in trees, administer a powerful poison attack, who provide extra attack to Spiderlings at Level 3 and a Bind Hero power at Level 10?

i want to add on to the previous guy's idea. allow the giant spiders the passive ability to lay eggs inside the corpses of dead units. when the egg hatches, there will be a horde of lvl 1 spiderlings.

since you made a warg pit ( a warg lair )
why not make a cave troll (or a troll pit or something) lair for Moria
